Guided Forays — White River National Forest
Small groups (max 12) head into the White River National Forest with expert mycologists for half-day forays on Saturday and Sunday. $80 per person, per day · pre-registration required. Foray groups meet at cafes in downtown Eagle (exact locations to be announced).

Best known as Wild Food Girl, Erica has taught hands-on foraging and food preparation since 2017 and has blogged about her wild-food adventures since 2009. Melissa Elzey
Carbondale, CO
Melissa Elzey grew up in the Rocky Mountains of Northern Idaho, where she first learned to forage and use plant medicine. She has also lived in Washington and Oregon and is familiar with the plants of the Pacific Northwest. When she moved to Colorado in 2003, she found many of her same herbal allies. Melissa is a steward of the land for 13 Moons Ranch in Carbondale, Colorado, where she cares for the animals, gardens, and people. She tends the medicinal herb garden and forages for food and plant medicine on the land and surrounding areas, then uses what she gathers to make teas, salves, honey electuaries, and tinctures. She has been studying plant medicine for 38 years and is always willing to share her knowledge if you’re willing to listen. You can hear her love, passion, connection, and reverence for the plant kingdom when she speaks about plants as food and medicine.
